Rob McCorquodale

Rob McCorquodale serves as Of Counsel to the firm, but began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in 1990 with then D.A., Richard Ieyoub. In 2000 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office hired him to serve as their In-House Counsel and, in 2006, Rob added his part-time association with Stutes & Lavergne to his private law practice; he still serves in both capacities. ​ Rob is a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and graduated from Barbe High School in 1982 and McNeese State University in 1986. in 1989, he obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Paul Hebert Law Center at LSU. While in law school, Rob was a member of the Moot Court Board and a Robert Tullis Moot Court Semi-finalist. ​ Since his graduation from law school, Rob was elected to the Lake Charles City Council where he served for a time as its President. While on the City Council, Rob was appointed to the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee as part of his work with the Louisiana Municipal Association. It was a national committee that met periodically in Washington D.C. ​ Rob has also served as the President of the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association and been appointed to serve as a Board Member for the Louisiana Bar Foundation. He has also served many years as a delegate to the Louisiana Bar Association House of Delegates. ​ Rob has always been active in our local community; he previously served as a board member for the United Way and was also a member of the Kiwanis. Currently, Rob's service focuses on his passion for McNeese and he sits on both the McNeese Athletic Foundation Board as well as the McNeese Foundation Board. ​ He is married to Keri Forbess-McCorquodale and they have a son, Ethan. In Rob's free time he likes to hunt, fish and, when there is an opportunity, maybe play a little golf. Rob is also a runner, having completed four marathons, including the New York City Marathon. ​ Rob's practice is varied, but he does collection work and will appear on behalf of creditors in bankruptcy court. Criminal Justice, 1986 Russ then graduated from LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2018 to obtain his J.D. While in law school, he spent a summer in the LSU Law Abroad program where he attended classes in Lyon, France. On campus, Russ held various positions on the Student Bar Association every year of law school, including 1L Class Representative, SBA Executive Treasurer, and SBA Executive Vice-President. He also participated in the National Tax Moot Court Competition twice, where his team reached the quarterfinals and placed 4th overall in addition to receiving Runner-up Best Brief. He dedicates the majority of his practice to tax and commercial litigation, but also assists clients in general business law, estate planning, and successions matters. He maintains a seat on the board of the Young Lawyers Section of the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association. Outside of the office, Russ is married to another lifelong Lake Charles resident, Marissa Fraser Stutes. They spend their free time cheering on the LSU Tigers, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
